So the class system is going into effect. I said that I would put it to a vote, but i realized it was too much work to just let it go to waste. The system explains itself pretty much underneath the headers for the different class types.

Do we declare our classes via PM or do we post what we want through the class list and requirements page? Either way, this was a great way to add more diversity among the ranks here. _________________ "I know you are here to kill me. Shoot, coward, you are only going to kill a man." |

looks like people are all over this. this should turn out interesting and help people decide what kind of thing they want to do.
oh, perhaps the rogue tree's priority can also be explained not only as speed, lightling reflexes, and cunning of a fox, but also at times they strike from the shadows. The victim or target is unaware of the character's presence and doesnt know until struck. this can lead to interesting things. Like gathering info without actually getting into a fight, sneaking around (maybe), and of course the others can try, but the rogue tree classes are just better at it. That last one., the A one, would be silent whenever they move. Kind of like Koku now when he pleases. Just something to stew on. No use in the arena, but something to use in RPs both as a character and for the judges to work into to make things interesting. _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist

Well everyone has the ability to boast of their own abilities and try whatever they want during an RP or even an arena fight. The thing about the is that it is text base gameplay, so things are not as ridged as they are in an actual video game or something of the sort. If you desire to be stealthy and sneak from the shadows then do so. However if you are a warrior you probably wont have much luck. Also while I understand, Im not going to glorify that tree anymore than it already is I feel that the Ansashina has a fairly decent description and that its abilities are more than adequate for what it takes to get there.
I do however as always appreciate the well articulated suggestion. |

Oh, I dont want any changes. Its just some RP suggestions. Possibly quest ideas. Infiltrate, rescue the princess, and get out. Oh, did I mention the entire time you are surrounded by 300 snarling orcs that boil thier enemy's dead in big soup kettles... _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist

| LOL, nice. Yes, i do need to add more sneaking quests that is something that i am well aware of, as they dont seem to have much variety, though the vahral or whatever the quest is with Hans Kibarachi could definately be seen as an infiltration mission if you wanted to approach it that way. |

| Hrmm that sounds like a quest that would discriminate against persons of other careers though, and thus not very fun or fair. It can be seen that the quests in the past have been suited to all people of any skills and did not require any sort of specialization. Why? Simply to encourage participation to everybody despite of their personal preferences, and infact the events in a RP is completely about how the group as a whole acts, not just a single member. Even then, stealth rolls and all that sounds like it could get a bit complicated and thus would be adding a lot of stuff for judges to remember, and it can be heard from my room that they have more than enough rolls as it is. |

No need to add rolls in.
The point is not the sneaking, but the priority of who attacks. This can actually explain everything. Take the RP going on now for example. Schmall was using no stealth really. He just opened a door and walked right in. It was his speed and reflexes. But if he was to peek through the keyhole, silently slip in, sneak up on the bony critter, or even sneak in, take its treasure and then leave, or just outright take the first swing then and there.
I know there is already lots of die rolling. I dont like coming up with more die rolling ideas. Put the work on the player instead. you want quality posting, so encourage it and reward it. If an assassin player decides to sneak up and kill someone and posts his actions as "I sneak up on the guy and cut his head off," AUTO FAIL!! Now if the same guy was to be creative and practical, while borderlining realistic and simply crazy, let it slide. That person obviously worked on that post in order to get his intentions clear.
My sneaking idea, like i said 2 or three times now, is based on the priority and priority only. You can not sneak up on something with a better priority than you. It wont work. they are too aware of thier surroundings, reflexes better than yours, and so forth. Besides, the whole sneaking thing is up to the GM really.
Archaic, as for balance, it will stay balanced in the long run. Schmall can be trotting ahead, moving from shadow to shadow, and scouting ahead. He spots something and either waits for you and beany to catch up or comes back to report.
Last point, a good GM/judge will never let his big bad guy (the end boss of the RP) be caught flat-footed and unawares. It only takes one trained bird that sings at the approach of something, trip wires attached to bells, or simply put "the big, ugly, drooling, gnar turns and looks right into your eyes Schmall as you slip through the deep shadows." I have been raised and taugh that the GM/DM/Judge is GOD. end of discussion really. He is GOD and what he says goes. I respect that.
So to sum up this rather long post, priority will represnt the sneakiness really. Its a tool for the story to explain why they can strike first. _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist

Agreed with schmall, and for my Post earlier, to clarify.
Feel free to take the quest even if you are not the stealth type! I always work with or around the characters depending on the situation. If you have a large mixed party then i will accomodate and there will be no need for discretion. However, if schmall and archaic want to team up and do an infiltration mission while Koku, bean, and Obagon(where did he go btw?) wish to charge strait in as backup meeting up halfway that fine.
Actually this is a good point, feel free to have multiple parties take quests and tackle different aspects(or jsut go as one big fun group!) |

That would be fun!! The three big brutes charging down upon the group we need to kill while myself and Archaic sneak tent to tent gathering what we need. Of course will be poking an enemy or two in hopes he thought it was his buddy behind him who cant weild his spear right. Poof! instant fight amoung the enemy's ranks. hee hee hee
but ya, that sounds like fun really.
~EDIT to avoid double posting~
Just noticed the classes are now posted under people's avatars. cool. i like it! _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist
