DESIGNING A SEAL!

So here is a bit of a design challenge, and don't worry, you fine art skills may not be needed for this one!

Take a look at the logo in the banner at the top of the forum. What does it mean? Well, let us examine! the backwards c shape represents the sun shining down and the lines coming from it are rays. However, the illuminate only half of the circular image behind it. The other half is left in shadow. The image of a sun eclipsing half of the sphere brings symbolizes night. With the latin for Night being Nocte, it serves as a fairly well fitting match for the imperial seal of our kingdom.

However, let us not forget that there are provincial lords as well. and a new kingdom of Luminous!

So here is the challenge. design and post a Royal seal for Luminous and/or a Provincial Seal for any of the established provinces. The Provincial Lords will decide which to use out of those submitted and I myself shall decide upon the seal for Luminous! The overall winner will be decided via vote.

While those who win for Luminous or a province recieve nothing less than recognition and bragging rights the over-all winner receives the following.

1200 GC and a summon of your choosing OR a mystery Legendary Weapon

How long shall this competition last. Shall this be for only a week or two weeks. It will help to know as it will determine when I should start to attempt to think of something.

This shall be a fun competition. I may need to try to start to think about what to draw. I just hope that I can make look slightly no awful.

How do you want the submissions submitted (email, pm, or snail mail?) And more importantly, how are these to be made (what program/techniques?)

Though i would say to be coherent with the current theme of the site they can be made and submitted anyway you want. Email them to me or upload them online and simply post them in this thread. Use any program and technique you want, from adobe illustrator to photography to graphite, to MS paint.

Just a reminder that the deadline is fast approaching! The prize is quite large for the overall win on this one! Also i should mention that while my design can be chosen for luminous, I can NOT with the grand prize! So if only one person submits they win!

Tomorrow is the final day for submission, after which, The representatives of the various provinces will choose their emblem, and I shall choose the one for luminous, then, omitting my own submissions, a poll shall be opened for the overall winner.

Now now, no pressuring the people on what to choose. Besides, obviously mine with the 30 seconds (for any one who knows what they are doing) worth of photoshop must mean something... right? Then again I know that someone will probably be submitting something better in their places... such is the way it works.

Yes, it would be nice to get Obagon in on this, or maybe if bean baker through something in.......... but...its the day of the deadline, so let us see.

I have spent the past 18 hours (prior to 10am class) working in Flash. That said I will try and get some submissions in, but my hand might try and commit sempaku with the stylus.

I did this in Illustrator if it gets used, so there is a better image with that.

Well the provincial lords get to choose which one they want to use out of the entries, though there will undoubtably be SOME tweaking for consistency purposes. That aside, two hours left until contest deadline, after which, Obagon feel free to choose which one shall become the Kishington province seal.

They were done before midnight, so anyone can pick them for anything. As for my Province seal I am debating between between my first one and the black/purple one you made. I shall decide by later today.

Sounds good, let me know when you choose. Schmall has until midnight tonight to make an appearence and choose, or it will jsut default to the one i made. Also obagon if you do choose the swords please email me the file for tweaking.
