At the end of Serpent Wharf is a shop advertising tourist fishing.  When you enter the shop, your eyes are immediately drawn to the largest stuffed serpent you have ever seen.  It's full 14 foot long body, unable to fit on one wall, actually goes from one wall to the next with the head up behind the counter.  You also notice at least a dozen poles hanging from a rack to the right and countless hand-made lures.  There is also a couple pieces of art work of a fishermen struggling to pull monsterous serpents up onto thier boats.

"May I help you?" Asks a man behind the counter that you failed to notice.  When you look at him, there is absolutely nothing remarkable about the man.  Average height and build, brown hair and eyes, and so ordinary looking, you know you will forget him once you walk out of his shop.  "You must be here for a fishing trip.  Well, we can only go out at dawn and dusk.  Daytime they are sleeping under the mountain and nighttime the serpents will eat the boat and kill us.  Of course I can take you fishing for 'normal' fish during the day, but you are not here for that are you?  You want to catch something like this dont you?"  The man points at the serpent on the wall behind himself and continues, "It costs 25gc for the basic package, 50gc for the good one, and 250gc for the riskier one.  Be sure to have a weapon handy though, particulary for the risky package."

Suddenly the man leans closer, his eyes darting to the door and the windows, and whispers, "if you want a life or death package, I know a man who can set up you.  He charges 500gc though.  Expensive, I know.  Heard its worth it though.  Careful, not all return."

Just as abruptly, he leans back agains the wall and waits for your answer.

"Just looking around.  Nothing important."  I look away with a raised eyebrow to browse the various clutter.

After a moment I turn to the man.

"Why exactly would you talk of such a dangerous trip in such a secretive manner?  Is it something looked down upon?"  I pull my jutte towards my back to hide my guard status.

"What?  Illegal?  Nonsense!  The secretive nature is just a tourist trap.  Helps draw people in.  No locals go for it though.  Just the out of towners seeking a thrill to prove themselves do it," says the man, completely ignoring the movements and intent of the questioning of Beanbaker.

"Okay then.  Just as long as your services and disclaimers are clear.  Anyways, on a lighter note, what can we expect from these fishing trips?  Is it the objective to catch or hunt?  And maybe, if these trips worry the travelers a little too much, perhaps they may be interested in an escort?"

"I take you out on that boat there," the man, who has yet given his name, points out the window directly across the wharf to a boat tied up securely, "then you do the fishing when I tell you to drop the hook and bait.  I will be up in that cabin there were I can control the sail and rudder by a series of levers and pulleys, this way you can kill the serpent on your own.  Depending on the pole and bait I have you use, depends on the size you pull in.  If you break my boat, you will pay for the repairs.  Most sell the serpent at one of the butchers after showing it off for a bit.  They usually offer 1gc for every 5 lbs.  I do not gurantee results or your safty."

Hearing this comment I make my way over to the two having the discussion. "So why are these serpents killed now. I know I have killed a few but it was because they attacked me first. What wrong have these serpents done? It seems like it is cruel just to kil for game. They may soon go extinct. What will you do to make sure the survival of them is insured." With that I clench a fist while looking at the fisherman.

Completely unafraid, or rather foolish, cant tell which actually, the man laughs at Koku's comments.  After laughing for a few seconds he manages to get out between laughs, "the serpents?  Survive?  Extinction?" some more uncontrollable laughter, "they breed faster than rabbits.  This town alone pulls at least 100 serpents a day.  Thats not including the other towns and villages.  This has been going on for at least 500 years and the serpents seem to getting more active.  There is a honeycome of underwater tunnels under the mountain island that the females are believed to stay for we only seem to catch the males.  So there is not worry about extintion."  The man continues to laugh as if heard the best joke in the world.

*Archaic, after relieving himself in the lake walks along the shore and sees a fishing spot. Walking in he can hear the voices of three acquaintances and walks over as he listens to their conversation. After hearing Koku he can't help but think.*

"Oh a chance to kill innocent animals eh Schmall! Sounds like a lot of fun hehehe. And yet... I thought you were nature's assassin, and now you assassinate nature. Oh well I will pass for now anyways as they do not seem as feisty as they used to be, but I do applaud you for creating a fun attraction point for the extremely blood thirsty." Archaic says to himself.

Looking at the man with ferocity I punch him in the gut before kicking him down. "You fool, you are causing them to get more angry, and you probably have caused them to be so aggressive. I will not allow this anymore. If you want to catch them, you catch them alive and then let them go after feeding them! It does not concern you much though, I do not know if I will let you live long enough for it to affect you." I take my scythe and I cut into his stomach deeply, then taking some rope I tie it around his top half tightly, then take a rock and tie it to the other end of the rope. Taking his bloody possibly dead body I throw it into the water watching him sink.

The owner of the shop, now very dead, sinks to the bottom of the lake along the wharf.  A cloud of red bubbles up the surface.  Hearing the death screams of the old man, a young teenager comes out from the back, witnesses Koku's actions, and rolls his eyes.  He hangs a closed sign in the door window and asks all to leave.

(ooc: Schmall is not there.  He is in his office only at the moment.)
