So the support people at RCN are now also available in english speaking with degrees! However it costs $30 a half hour to talk to then.......
Anyways if i ever get frustrated enough i might resort to this, as it guarantees your problem fixed or the call is free.

Nice that sounds great, but the amount it cost is a bit much. I hope you do not have anymore issues, if so it would be kind of evil. _________________

They better fix the problem fast as possible. It would annoy the heck out of me if the first thing they as is if you rebooted the computer, is everything plugged in, and other obvious things that we all know about. I dont want to pay a dollar per minute for someone to lecture me. I hope they actually listen to you so that they can go straight for the meat of the problem with no dilly dallying. _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist

Well considering it is probably just a burnt out modem from too much downloading, I think there is not much he can do. You have to be careful with how many downloads you do at a time or over a period of time. _________________

When you get it be careful with how much you download. You can easily overheat your modem when you download so much. Give it the occasional break from downloading or download a little less and it shall be good. Just because it can do a lot does not mean it can handle a whole lot. If it does not have a fan or a way to cool itself then you especially have to be careful or else you will just burn it out... again. _________________

| Well from now on despite my possible speeds i set a speed limit on my Downloader for 500kbs total, this is a good speed and should be able to be held with minimal stress on the modem for a while. |

Would getting a small cheap fan help it out some. Just clip it to something near the modem, point it right at it, and just turn on the fan whenever you are putting it to use. This should help with keeping its internal tempature down a little. If you can get the slits to the inside exposed the fan, that would be even better actually. Just dont go blowing a bunch of dust in there by mistake. _________________ When I visit reality, I go as a tourist

Well considering it would probably be able to get up to 200 degrees or so, I do not know how much a mini fan would help. I mean there is a chance that it will barely help at all. setting the limit may help a bit though. _________________

| Yeah fans wont really help too much at all. In fact, by putting a fan on the router, there are times you effectively blow back the heat at it, thus it gets so counter productive that it heats up from that. o_O Worst comes to worst, just open up a window. You're so high up the breeze should work. |
