Every now and again, sometimes more often than not you come accross a weird ingredient in what you are easting....like shave fish or orange peels. I know this happens to other too, so let me know some weird things and where they come from.
The shaved fish was in seaweed which i guess makes sense....orange peels are in A1 sauce which i cant afford anymore.

I think orange peel is actually in a few flavorings. I would not consider it scary. As for scary ingredients in food, I am going to say the crushed beetle larva (Red # somethign) is high up on that. _________________

| Yeah I actually like the taste of orange, and thus the peels must retain some of that flavoring. Whats scary is that fish scales are common in lipsticks and it used to be that rubber was used in bubble gum! Imagine chewing a tire and you're almost there. |

Yellow dye number 5 is found in many, many things and for the most part is actually less harmful then it is made out to seem. You see sperm is made very quickly and the little lost from yellow 5 is quickly recovered. _________________

| Hrmm it appears that we already forgot the truly scary stuff; mold and algae. Any dairy that is not in milk form most likely has its share of either mold of algae and that I find scary and gross. I mean, blue cheese is ONLY mold really and that explains why it is so incredibly icky. |

There is actually a forbidden cheese that has live grubs in it. It is suppose to have a really strong taste. It is also very very hard to find, and not found at all in US. _________________

I was watching something on the food network once about how something is made, I'm pretty sure it was jimmies/sprinkles, they use bugs to color them or make them shine either way there are bugs in them. _________________ What if there were no hypothetical situations? |

I am not surprised by the amount of bugs in food. I mean Chocolate has bugs in it too, just small pieces. It is something we just have to get used to. They are good for us anyways (for the most part), so no need to worry about them. _________________

| Yes I mean if you really look at things closely like that you can then say that there is cow crap in hamburgers, especially from fast food places. As for hotdogs... well let us just say that no part of the animal is wasted. Almost makes you want to be a vegetarian. |

Koku, you talking about red 40?
Anyways, the orange peel stuff, would it make more sense if it was orange zest, which is peels shaved off?
Nothing really scares me, but I find haggis horrifying. The ingredients may not be chemicals, but it just sounds nasty... |

This topic made me think of just one dish right off the bat, the scorpion mountain. It is a large cake that makes the shape of a volcano, with a sweet sauce in a little pool on the top that overflows onto the sides. Oh and there are live scorpions all over the thing. You are supposed to pick up the scorpions by the tail, duck them in the sauce and then eat them. Also, they still have their front pincers. _________________ "So they want to kill my men? For the bugs in chocolate no, I mean tiny bugs, maybe flies, ants those type that find there way into the mixing batch after being tempted by the smell. They are tiny pieces, and no more then seventy pieces per a specific amount of chocolate.
