"historic" ice stormI dunno how hard everyone else got hit, but everything was affected in worcester. Part of Providence St., Plantation, and any other high-altitude areas got destroyed in terms of damage. My friend had his backyard destroyed, a couple thousand in damages.
But anyways, besides for the day off on friday, no school tomorrow, because of all the power outages. I know wachusett is out until wednesday.

All the college campuses were closed down on Friday as well. Sadly, there are still open today. That said after traveling around worcester on Saturday, I have to agree that there were damages everywhere. Luckily, I just lost internet for 2 days. That said if you got to look at some of the forests we have right after the storm it was amazing; the trees looked like they were covered in white leaves because of the icicles, making ice forests.

I saw that as i still get emails when Worcester public schools are canceled. Coincidentally, its currently 65 degrees in NYC and sunny!

It was bad in Amherst but not that bad. We just lost power for a couple hours. Worcester I heard is in a national state of emergency still, and I know that some places will not have power for two weeks. That is pretty harsh

Up by four corners in Colorado we're just having snow galore. It got below freezing yesterday but it wasn't too bad.

Message From Deputy Superintendent:
Good afternoon,
After a lengthy conversation with the city manager and commissioner of public works, they informed us that the sidewalks are still in very poor condition and it will take days to clean up. Our first obligation is the safety of children
as they walk to school. Therefore, we have decided that the Worcester Public and Parochial schools will be cancelled for the remainder of the week.
Thank You,
Dr. Stephen Mils
Deputy Superintendent "
This is just a blessing. I get to start vacation a week early! Everyone else has to go back on monday and tuesday. Most likely this turn of events may wipe out our februaury vacation.

Yeah this is a serious thing. Seniors must be loving it the most though. Maybe you will just have to make it up at the end of the year, which would stink for you.

This is my Finals week, so unless the school building itself gets frozen or destroyed, we are still going.

I actually appreciate the surprises time off during the winter, and don't mind too much about making it up during the summer, during which i would just end up sitting at home bored anyways.
