App/Program Knowledge exhange! Here is a place for asking for knowledge in exchange for it.
Obagon! Post a quick step by step how to make an animated web banner in flash, and in exchange i shall post an in depth step by step for multiple ways to color using vectors in illustrator.

Do you mean something like this? (disregard the lack of artistic effort and the fact that I saved it as a gif and not a swf)

yes jsut like that, simply how to change the file size in flash, the document size, save as a gif or save as a flash document that could feasibly be used as a banner. (dont mind the term flash document, as i dont know what the different types are.)

Document size is in *Modify at the top, then Document.
To save as a gif or something else go *File at the top, then Publish Settings. Then check GIF and change the settings as you want, also make sure to designate a destination folder)same place you checked GIF) because it doesn't point to a default one.
As for file size, the best way to make it smaller is to use symbols for any image you use more then once. Symbols are images that can be used multiple times. It makes the file smaller because now it only has to use a line of code to reference an image rather then holding two of that image.
To make a symbol go into *Insert, then new symbol, it will give you three little choices, movie clip, button, graphic. You should just leave it at graphic. Buttons require programming to use, and movie clips are unnecessary in simple animations. After that just make the image/or animation. You can then drag and drop it from the Library into the scene.
Also symbols are stored in the movies "Library". Ctrl+L brings up the Library.
If you want to know anything else just ask.

Nice thanks this alone will be incredibly helpful! Now for the two best ways to color in illustrator!(cel shading style)
For either way first create your image with the different shapes filled with the base color. The go to object-expand-fill and stroke
Loose coloring
Using the direct selection tool(the white arrow) select the field of color you want to shade. then switch over to the knife tool(same space in the toolbox as the scissors) from there draw freehand in the selected shape, make sure that it creates a closed off area, either within the shape field or by going off the edge.(if this is unclear as i think it is, please say so). then click off of that shape with the white arrow. Now recalling where you made the cut click within that area with the same white arrow and change the color.
Technical coloring
select the pen tool and draw the line over the shape that you wish to color, making sure that the like creates a shape within the shape or one that is closed. now make sure that that line has no stroke and no fill(this is represented by a white box with a red line going diagonally through it). Select the white arrow tool and while holding shift select the shape field(now both the line and the shape should be selected. Go to window->pathfinder to open the pathfinder window. select the first option in the second row(should look like three separate little shapes(the icon that is). This make the selected line cut the shape like the knife tool, but more precisely. continue by clicking off the shape then reselecting the area thats color needs changing.

That is very helpful, and none of it was confusing. I will probably use the technical one most of the time, unless I am feeling lazy then the other way works.
