Beast: L_O, KA carriage soon arrive to take the two warriors out to the Lake Validus. It is quite nice in fact and even bears the mark of the kingdom upon its purple fabric coverings. Once inside you note the quality of if. There are benches a table, and you can even close the sides to eliminate wind. Upon doing so the carriage driver, reaches back with a match and lights a small lantern to keep the insides lit(as dusk has well set in).
Finally you arrive at the lake.
"Well i spose this will be as far as I take you, seemin this here lacrimabilis cant walk over the water. Ill wait for you though, just to be sure you get back to the capital."
*He bows acknowledging both of your ranks.
Looking around the night has indeed creeped in and it is hard to see. The lake however glistens in the moonlight.
Koku
"I will give you one guess where we have to go." With that I pick up a rock and throw it into the water. "Well before we go, shall we just look around to see if there is anythign worth taking."
Lord_Obagon
"I hate water, but I guess we have no choice." Obagon looks around in hopes of boat, but is very doubtful.
Koku
As Obagon looks for a boat I look low at the shrubbery around the lake. Figuring it is a place good for plant growth, I hope to find some orcht berries or tatus roots growing. There is little light, but one can hope.
Billgar
Just normal grass lines the lake, though it has been chewed upon, no clear indications of what by however. There is no boat in sight as all the villagers would have pulled them out fo the water by now, there are however several trees.
Lord_Obagon
Obagon looks closely to see if any of the trees hang out over the water or if any"thing" is hanging from them. While thinking to himself "hmm raft maybe?"
Koku
As obagon does that I slice at one of the trees. I then look at Obagon who has an AXE then smirk. "Do you mind helping cut down a tree to make it into a boat, you are the one with an axe."
Lord_Obagon
"But that would be too easy, ah hell" Obagon lunges at the nearest tree, ax drawn, to unleash hell upon it.
Billgar
*the tree comes down with one fell swoop. after a few moments you have a series of logs prepped*
Koku
Once obagon cuts the tree I use my scythe to help cut it into a meaningful size. I help cut out a portion of the tree into the main boat by cutting twice diagonally down into the tree about 7' appart to get the main boat shape, then once down the middle in order to get the boat to be less big. Realizing this is a waste, it was still fun to make. I then give up and just go into the water, I know it was bound to happen anyways. I look over to Obagon and say, "You know this is inevitable, let's just get this over with..." With that I take a breath and go down.
Lord_Obagon
"We should do this more often. Now lets just find something to tie it together with." Obagon looks around for some vines, long skinny animals, or maybe even some plant people.
Koku
Realizing he still want to make the boat I get out to help him make it. I use the long, vine like branches from the tree to help create the start of the raft.
Lord_Obagon
"I would rather have the boat waiting at the surface if we need to get out in a hurry. Especially if we find anything else down there." That said, they finish making the raft and Obagon pushes it into the water. He quickly jumps on and motions to Koku.
Koku
I get on very cautiously. I keep my scythe in hands with a type ggrip, and prepare for the worst.
"I hope this will be a good fight. I want more fun."
Billgar
*after both of you jump onto the raft it slowly drifts out into the lake, fog densens, and and you wonder to yourselves just how large the lake is. The weather is nice however, though a bit muggy, so it is at least an enjoyable raft ride.*
Lord_Obagon
The raft sets off and floats slowly toward the center of the lake. "I think it is best we go down from here" which is followed by a splash as Obagon drops off of the side and begins to sink.
Koku
Koku stays on for a another second, but then gets up, and with a small run does a front flip to dive into the water. Swimming around it appears as there is nothing out of the ordinary. I put the scythe on my back tightly for now and start to swim around.
Lord_Obagon
Obagon keeps his attention high as he sinks to the bottom waiting for any signs of this beast.
Koku
just the opposite, I keep my attention low while staying high. This allows us to get both areas covered to the best of our abilities. The water over magnifies sound, making it useless to use, and all I can smell is the water and vegetation growing in it.
Billgar
Something darts by obagons leg and near simultaneously, koku, feels the sensation of soemthing wapping into his back as he wades in the water. Feeling arund there is nothing, and the visibility is poor.
Lord_Obagon
Obagon uses what little time he has under water, to search about lifting rocks and looking for caves, all the while scaring what fish he crosses with a menacing glare.
Koku
I grab my scythe in my hands again in order to make sure that it was not that that I was feeling. After coming back for air I go back down and start swinging my scythe in front of me for the heck of it. I then think to myself how this is probably scaring the fishes away and stop, hoping to get one to come close to me so that I could eventually get it with me scythe.
Lord_Obagon
Obagon goes up for a quick breath of air before dropping back down to find Koku and this creature.
Billgar
As obagon feels something try and bit at him, he kicks his pelvis back to avoid it. Knowing that danger is eminent, the situation seems grave. Just at that moment, a solitary cloud blots out the moon removing what little light was available.
Koku
I feel a small pressure force move about three feet away from me, it is not big enough to be a person, or even a big fish for that matter. I do a quick slash at where it came from to get nothing. Bummed out I get a breath of air than go back down.
Lord_Obagon
"A fight in Darkness, ha, what a foolish creature indead." thinks Obagon as he rushes forward with his ax swinging.
Koku
Sensing the pressure waves from obagon which are far away I head towards themas quick as possible, there seems to be another thing causing pressure waves in the water that get me excited.
Billgar
*the cloud finally lifts away, as you see a series of lumps rise to the surface. Clearly the back of a serpent. However, their movement is strange, and quickly you realize that there are several in the water. One darts forward and gouges into Koku's shoulder, another one snaps at Obagons ankle. The water reddens*
*Koku takes 188 damage*
*obagon takes 104 damage*
Lord_Obagon
Obagon lets out a sickening laugh as he swings his ax at the creature beside him.
Koku
Angered by what just happened I sense where once is moving and plan to swim as fast as possible to get to the side of its head fast enough. Once I get there I quickly slash horizontally, trying to cut the gills on the sides, as well as anything else that may be a little in back of the head.
Billgar
as obagon swings his axe, it meets his target cleaving the head clear off, a tough task indeed especially under water.
As the Reaper of Souls hits its mark, the creature is entirely obliterated.
Two more serpents latch their teeth onto the arms of koku, as another one barrages obagon with a series of rams
*serpentA takes 302 damage*
*serpentB take 894 damage*
*Koku takes 214 damage*
*obagon takes 34 damage*
Lord_Obagon
Obagon swings his ax at the foolish creature.
Koku
I think to myself how these things are annoying I just try to hit one to make sure it dies. I go for one that is swimming in front of me and with intensity slash twice to vut it in an x shape.
Billgar
Koku once more eradicates the serpent *now visible under summons page 3*. Obagon however messes up and merely wounds his target. The wounded creature appears to be the last one remaining.
*SerpentC takes 412 damage*
*serpentD takes 299 damage*
Lord_Obagon
Obagon shows a devlish grin across his face, as he grabs at the creature, hoping to knock it out and keep it for his own future use.
Koku
Realizing that there should be one left, another one of those that bit me, I look for it, and once I start to sense it I charge at it to quickly swing my scythe at it.
Billgar
*serpentD takes 96 damage and dies*
Upon getting back on the raft the two warriors laugh a bit over how simple a task it was for those of such high rank. However it was fun nonetheless. Upon reaching the shore you get off the raft(which immediately disappears into the fog). The air is still and the carriage driver has lit a small campfire for himself and seems to be boiling some water to get out any unwanted bacteria. You begin to make your way over to him, but before you join up, there is a rustling in the bushes near the lake.
Lord_Obagon
Obagon keeps his ax gripped tight, ready to cleave whatever creature is foolish enough to emerge.
Billgar
*the rustling continues, nothing emerges*
Lord_Obagon
Obagon puts his ax on his back, charges the bushes and leaps onto whatever was making the noise.
Koku
I shake to get a majority of the loose water off. I then put the staff part into the ground then jump onto the top of the scythe. While balancing I try to see what is lurking in the bushes.
Billgar
The bushes are quite low to the ground and whatever is there appears to be under them
Lord_Obagon
Obagon comes down onto the bushes, either landing on or scaring out whatever was under them.
Koku
I get off my scythe and wield it again. I approach the shrubs slowly. I then quickly pull the shrubbery off and attempt to grab whatever was down there.
Billgar
Your hands wrap around the slimy muscular body of a Validian Serpent
Koku
I try to tame it, letting it thrash around a bit before applying a little pressure to show who is in charge. After it stops squirming so much I ease off to show I will not hurt it.
Billgar
Its calms, and slowly stops moving. Either its warming up to you, or simply cant breathe.
Koku
To show I care for it but wish not to let it go free. Handing Obagon the serpent for a second I quickly take off my robe, grab a large vine like branch from the tree, tie it in a circle, quickly wet my robe around it so that it works as a holding container, get water in it, and then get the serpent (or at least the part with gills) in it to see if it can breathe easier. It is still to far to get into the water and escape. While in there I still hold it gently so that if it tries to escape I can prevent it from doing so.
Billgar
*After Koku realizes that he is merely playing with a figment of his imagination he looks over to the carriage driver. Him and obagon are consuming some type of boiled meat*
Obagon "What the hell are you going", he says looking over to koku who is wrestling a log. "I killed that thing HOURS ago."
After a delicious meal, they return to the capital.
*quest completed sorry for missing obagons posts. Please report to the imperial court*
