Is it a baby dragon?

So my mom was wandering the shores of Maine, and came across an interesting item? A SKULL! what is it the skull of though? Perhaps a dragon? Or maybe some type of aquatic random? Maybe a fish? the world may never know.

Koku

to me it looks like it might have belonged to an iguana. If that is the case then it would still be cool as it would be kind of dragony. It is of a good size I suppose.
Billgar

Hmm...i dont think it could be an iguana. I mean compare the skull shapes!

Koku

I will claim it to be a Rhinoceros Iguana, which has a bump in the top back of his skull. It is close enough in my opinion and will give me closure. It would be odd if it was that though, as I do not know of many people who would have one.
Schmall

that looks pretty??  Wait, you said your mom found on the shores of my home state!!  THEIF!!  GIVE IT BACK!!

*no results*

guess i will have to find a way of getting it back....

Anyways, it does make you wonder.  I doubt its very old or the sea would have destroyed it by now.  Prlly something like the lizards for sure.
Billgar

hmmmm....it does have alump on the back of its head, but that lump is hardly like the formations on the skull of this animal, if i had to make an actual guess....other than dragon

I would say its probably some type of shark or other carnivorous fish.

I dont think anything in the igunana familty will qualify

I don't know where you can find one, but one of those classification flow charts, but I don't know any on skulls.  Upon my first quick glance, I thought it was a bird skull of some kind, but it does look like a reptile skull, but I wouldn't rule out fish.  So far, google has crap.
Archaic

Hrmm it actually does kind of resemble the skull found in this article: http://www.crministriesphilly.com/additionalinformation
If so it would actually be a dinosaur skull!
However, google has been rather limited to results so aside from that far fetched answer, I am without a clue actually.
Schmall

The problem is that if it was washed up from the sea, it cant be all that old.  The salt, current, and pressure, would have obliterated that skull by now.  just look at the titanic right now.  Massive wear and tear.  sorry, I just dont see that skull being 65 million of years of age or older.
Billgar

Neither do i which is why i think probably some type of fish thing or shark. Be it catalogged or not, im not assuming its millions of years old, heck its probably not more than a year old as it still smells like something dead. However, it is cool and strange and everything...maybe its a dragon?
Schmall

I wish it was.  I really do.  That would make my world right then and there.
Archaic

Yup I know what you mean haha. Like I said it was a rather far fetched answer and thus not one to be taken 100% seriously. Still, the exact identification of this creature I am unsure, but it may be wise to search for horned creatures in or near Maine and its shores.
Schmall

Being born and raised here in Maine, on top of the fact of being a Boy Scout for unknown amount of years, foresty training, and just loving and being knowledge about the outdoors, there is no "horned" critter that is native to maine.  perhaps there is something hidding under the sea.  The current does flow from the north.  Dont be shy searching on google of the Canadian Proviences along the East coast too.  That would help possibly.
Tigereyz85

what do you mean there's no "horned" creatures???!!!! Deer, the last time I checked had horns and were native....same with moose....or did you manage to forget them? They deffinatly have NOTHING to do with that skull, but they ARE horned...Speaking of that skull....I'm very interested....could you shoot some more angles of it for me??
Schmall

horns are permnent.  antlers are not.  They fall off each winter.

I would love to show more angles, but there is a problem, i was lucky to convince my mom to finagle it around on skype long enough to get those. I live in NYC but my hometown is in mass. The next time i talk to her i will try though.
