ParanoiaSo today is the first day back at school. Classes resume, yet more or less stays the same.
An interesting course that I am taking this semester is called "Surveillance and Visual Culture" It focuses on writing such as George Orwell's 1948 publication, titled 1984, as well as reading such as "Discipline and Punish."
Essentially, it is a course on how to be a paranoid individual, and the fact that privacy is vanishing and/or how observation/surveillance is becoming a destructive force.
When we were leaving the lecture hall, a group of my peers were talking about how the lecturer seemed to be uncomfortable speaking to the group and how she was apparently a bit nervous.
I interjected and said to the in a whisper before walking away, "Thats cuz shes being watched."
