pets, damage, defenderthe scenerio first:
there is a dual in the arean. Dualist A has no pet and B has a perching lizard and weilds a defender. So dualist A decides to attack the lizard and strikes for 150 points of damage.
1st question: The lizard only has 30 hps to begin with. does all 150 go through and harm Dualist B or only 30?
2nd Question: Does the damage redirected due to the defender bypass defense bonuses like armor or does the defense still come into play.
Both are valid questions to ask cuz in different games I have heard different answers with similiar rules. Also, I hope the defense still comes into play. Otherwise it would be a way to overcome the damage. I can just hear it now, "Oh, you have 50 Def and weilding a defender. I will attack your pet for lots of damage. take the damage or the pet dies!!"

The way I understand it, if one has defender than by attacking his pet, what actually happens is that it is like your attack was originally aimed at that person and not their pet. Thus you do full damage, minus whatever that person's defense is.

I knew of plenty of responses to my questions, but I like yours. simply put.
So basically put, if the one with the defender activates the power, you must "target" the defender weilding character above all else.

Exactly. Defender just makes the attack does just that. It is very important if one plans to use a pet.
