Random FactApparently, back in the late 18 hundreds Doctors invented the vibrator to cure women of Hysteria.
This was brought up by my English professor today during a discussion of mental illness and I thought that it warranted being mentioned here.

Nice, slightly inappropriate, but at the same time relevant and acceptable. For Kokus sake, this post is approved.
On my comment, i think in a way it makes perfect sense....just think about it!

Back then that was the actual medical treatment for Hysteria. They taught it in med school.

But oh noes, it's a sin. This fact tickles the heck out of me. I am going to tell everyone. It does, in some weird way, make perfect sense.

It is pretty weird that its reason for being made was somethign like that, but hey it is a form of de-stressing. I wonder how many cases it actually was able to help with.

There have been many odd medical things over time, like how the company that makes aspirin, invented Heroin as a way to stop coughs. Amazingly heroin really does stop coughs.

Wow some of those are pretty interesting. The child's soothing medicine is pretty great. I hope that those are not all real. Sadly though, I kind of realize they are and I realize how far we have come with medicine.

Whoever wrote this article is a genius. I am halfway through and already laughing.
I can't believe some of the things they would prescribe people. Lobotomies scare that crap out of me though.
