Risk!

so it's not a video game... but still it's a game.

If anyone doesn't know about Risk, it's a board game in which one tries to conquer the world by destroying the other players armies... i could go into more detail, but I'm not going to.

Anyway I love this game. It's my favorite board game ever. and I just spent about three hours of my life playing this game {from around 9-12}
I won... yeah I took over the whole world... starting with Australia.
Kicked Koorlic and the other brothers butts.

Risk I think may get complicated, and is not my type of game, but it does not take away from the fact that the game is pretty good (from what I heard). Still, I think I would prefer the much easier monopoly if I were to play a long game. You can take over the world, I will just take over a small area in United States.

Well it doesnt have to be a video game to post it in media and gaming, a regular game is great too.

Anyways though it has been awhile, i used to play risk myself back in middleschool, and quite often. My favorite starting country was always Iceland. However i dont think that i ever won a single game.

Well for starters there is a Risk video game. That aside Risk is a great game, and should be played by all would be conquerers.

I had no idea until I read those posts and Schmall said something about it that Risk was a video game I may have to play that now too.

In other news. The other night, being Saturday night, I went to town to get my sweatshirt that I forgot at shatteredmischief's house... I wasn't intending to but I ended up being engaged in a game of Risk for at least six hours. It came down to me and Drieton in the end and after battling for about 20 minuets we had to just call it quits, since it was already 3am, and go by who had the most peices left. If my memories right he had a bit over 700 and I had a bit over 400... I'm convinced that I could have beaten him... or came pretty close if we had continued... but it would have taken a long time and we were all tired.

Drieton won because we turned on each other Chippit.  Next time we play, we are playing with the style I am used to playing instead.

as for the game of risk, it is one of my all time favorite games.  Playing against computers can get boring fast once you figure out how the AI of the computer players work.

Do you mean where if you win we can keep going until we lose?
We should play tomorrow {sunday} when I get out of work.

I'm up for a game.

as for my rules that I am used to, you get to attack as many times as you want.  If you want to attack once, that is fine.  You want to keep attacking and wipe out the last 3 countries that Koorlic is holding, that is fine so long as you can roll the dice well enough to take it.  You only get one card a round no matter how many battles you win though, granted you still need to take a country to get a card.

One other rule though, limited fortifing this time.  Only one set of men moved from one country to another.  May use chains (keep moving so long as the countries are touching), but all the men must go to one place.

The above two rules makes everything different.  A sudden placement of 20 men can be deadly if you forget to guard your backdoor.  Espically if that 20 men tramp in and take 3 or 4 countries, and then settle in properly.  Nasty.  Koorlic and Drieton are familiar with this style.  Enough to know the rules for I taught Drieton how to play and I have playe Koorlic before.

~EDIT~
Cant play Sunday.  Gonna be elsewhere.  sorry.  Perhaps next weekend?

yeah of course. I just want to play sometime.
