shiny M&Ms

Apparently there are new M&Ms that shine, and I know why. Apparently they coat the M&Ms in a very thin layer of this  mineral/ rock that has been turned into powder. This mineral (as I will call it) has just the right refractivity when combined with the other ingredients of M&Ms to reflect the light instead of absorbing it all. As such instead of letting the light get absorbed it bounces off. It was actually a lot of physics to do apparently.

I can only begin to imagine how they came upon this idea. It was most likely by accident, as I doubt they were very concerned about how shiny their edible product would be.

Well people do like shiny objects... so why not food? I think that it would be a great idea for a new product, but M&Ms were already big before, and the shiny will not help.

I do think that more food should be shiny, i mean apples already have a nice luster to them, but really i think everything should be available with a nice polish and glimmer to it. Choas from SA2B were available like this, and i mean think about all the product inspired by apples design sense that have a clear plastic caoting on them to make them more shiny? Why not M&Ms i think its a great idea, BUT they should make the peanut ones shiny too!

Is this why children eat coins?

Anyways, the M & M's might be nice to look at, but that's it.  Maybe they taste different?  If not, then it would just be a novelty product.  The regular ones will still taste the same, and possibly cheaper.

You should make a new topic in SQ.
