Take over!So recently the provost of my university(the chief academic officer who makes sure that all decisions particularly those made by the president, are in favor of the university) quit. This is a slight problem, but not the largest one.
The President of the university then took over all that persons responsibilities(a decision he made on his own). The full time faculty had a meeting
98% vote of no confidence in him or his vice president.
With this having happened it was called that he immediately resign.
Choosing not to to this, he relinquished his powers of provost that he had seized and put the deans office in charge of choosing the new one.
However, this called to light the problems of the university(politically and socially, not academically). The full time faculty kept their vote the same with 98% no confidence even with his giving up power.
Two knights ago, a large group of students occupied the graduate building kicking out security and taking it over. Last night, with police and security escorts, the president of the university arrived to negotiate. His reception was a mob of students that chased in down fifth avenue, quite literally hoping to end his rule and life that night.
This morning negotiations proceeded including that all students involved be given amnesty for their crimes and not tried in court, as well as a few other small agreements and some greater power being given to the student senate. The faculty vote of no confidence is still 98% and though the student senate claims to have had nothing to do with the occupation of the graduate building, I quote them saying.
“USS[university student senate] and the students will take further action depending on satisfaction.”
Oh.....the joys of a liberal university....

Wow that sounds like a fun time for you now. I hope it does not leave a mark on Parsons. I also wonder if the full time staff had a 98% disapproval rating for the past provost. Still good luck not getting tangled up in this, and do not be afraid to bash in some moron's head if needed, I know you can.

Intense. I hope Parsons makes the best decision. I wonder how he feels, being disliked that much.

Well i mean its pretty unanimous on the decision of what needs to be done. Also in the design world i think that this makes a school look better somehow..... please dont ask for explanations, design is complicated. Anyways, no students/faculty/gaurds were injured, nor were/are they supposedly intended to be. Its all against a single person...he should just give up.

He really does need to walk away. Students and staff dislike him. Maybe he's a bit on the dull side.

Well tis the fact that he is solely financially minded. Its not that he doesnt love/have interest in the school. He does! It makes him lots and lots of$$$$$$$...... he just doesnt care about the students.

Yeah that is not what your school needs. You need someone interested in money, but also in art, and who has such a large ego that is just run down to all the students.
