The taming of the Beast

Admin not participating, but will check and give awards.

Prompt

Deep within the crystal forest where the sun no longer reaches the stones, and where no man has been seen for near thousand years, there is but little life. A rare heard of beast dwells within these lands. It is the Umblet. These creatures are no larger than a dog, but it would hard to find something as menacing. Walking low to the ground and black as the fireless pits of hell, they are surely nothing less than demons.

The First Task

Make your way though the dessert, and face the Roc that stands guard at its end.

The Second Task

Enjoy your time in the city, that lays beyond the desert, and secure passage on a ship heading to the Island of Ferungiah.

The Third Task

Survive the jungles on the island of Ferungiah and make your way to the village of the Supepis

The Fourth Task

Convince the hesitant Supepis to have someone guide you to the crystal forest.

The Final Task

Kill the leader of the pack of Umblet the dwell in the crystal forest.
Koku

Hearing of a legend of a creature sure to be a demon, I head off to learn more of it, in a hopes to tame one. The little knowledge I do have is that I must first cross a desert with a nightmarish beast guarding the other side, making it nearly impossible to pass. With the cloak protecting me (as well as a few canteens) from the sun, I make sure to be ready for a fight. As I try to cross, the sand causes my steps to be labored and shortened. Sand is blown up and about in a hot wind, making it hard to look ahead. Quickly I look for a any plants to shape sand goggles with. Finding a small cactus I cut it, and get a semi flat piece. Using the tip of my scythe, I cut two small holes through the center to look through, and tiny holes on the sides. Making some string from the cactus fibers, I attach the string to the sides, then tie it around my head. While my vision is now extremely limited, I learned how to use other senses to judge the presence of things (especially by sound). With all of that set, I take a small sip of water, put the canteen back in the cloak, and get going. This is going to be one dangerous trip.
Archaic

Wait for me! Wait for me! I wanna go too!

*archaic runs, trying to catch up to Jungle while facing the stinging sands get into his eyes. Finally he catches up and slows his pace down to match that of Jungle's. He is fully equipped and knows of the dangerous involved with this quest, and yet, it does not scare him. Instead he chooses to act the part of the fool as to hide his true feelings. Kusarigama on his back and a sword attached to his side, he could take on many fleshy creatures.*

So where we going to exactly eh champ. We gonna kill desert animals? PETA would hate that!
Koku

"save all your energy, the roc is a fierce fiery bird that can probably kill us in one hit, so try not to be hit... This is a rather big challenge for even the best adventurers." With that being said I continue on, ignoring archaic. Traveling on and trying to withstand the heat (stupid black cloack), I notice we are almost at the end of the desert. Suddenly a hot wind is felt, and a large shadow is coming closer and closer.
"It's here." With that I get my scythe out, removing my training armor (review past RP) and get ready to attack and run.
Archaic

*Archaic takes out his kusarigama and begins spinning the chain. If its a bird, than all he has to do is wrap the chain around its neck and climb onto its back. From there he can use the sickle side of the weapon to just hack away at the creatures neck.*

Time to get serious I suppose eh. Lets go Jungle.
