"Well, by international friend, I mean just that - the islanders are friendly to us on a world scale. Just by the presence of Archaic and myself the islanders knew of our power, even though they do not know of the greater power that threatens us now.... Although now it is possible to go to the island and harvest the spices for a fee per container. I don't know if that is a good gesture or just a way to attract more currency, but they still seem friendly to our appearance and do not mind our militant-like styles."

Though there has been no official quest registered yet, a rather odd occurrence has occurred. We are not sure how strong your knowledge of deities and legends are, but scattered throughout the world are the original 8 creatures that were born the same time as the founding gods.

Here in Nocte, many things have happened as of late. Most of it revolves around the forest of souls. It is a great treasure of our land, and has the highest concentration of spiritual force throughout the known world!

But back to other matters. The seven capital countries(nocte included) each house one of these founding beasts. And it seems that the one in Nocte has awoken. This is undoubtably a part of Necar's plan. Prepare yourself for what lies ahead."

"This is not a good thing at all. This creature is surely powerful, and surely will be important to keep imprisoned. Killing it will probably result in a terrible event, so it is important to figure out the way to just imprison it again. Perhaps Archaic's item has the knowledge needed to do just that."

"We are sure that that book contains the knowledge to do many things. However without Necar's co-operation, We fear that we shall never get access to its contents. Another means must be found. Though the repercussions for killing such a beast surely would be great, We also fear that such a task is outside even Our power, but weakening it may be required. . . Soon we shall look into more ways of dealing with the situation."

"Right, as of now the best thing we can hope for is that it does not go on a rampage. great sacrifice will be needed to weaken the beast, and it comes upon the duty of the guards to help protect the place. When needed I shall lead a group against the beast, hopefully long enough to allow some enchantment to seal it again."

I am very nervous. Seeing the emperor in the palace! It's not the same as meeting him out on the street. I have cleaned up and carefully braided my hair. I'm as presentable as I can get.

I square my shoulders and take a deep breath as I am ushered into his majesty's presence. But he is in conference with Koku! Unsure whether I am interrupting anything or not, I hesitate just inside the door. But surely they wouldn't have sent me in if it would annoy the emperor.

I take a few steps forward, enough to establish my presence without getting close enough to hear them, and curtsy low. Then stand waiting. His majesty will acknowledge me when he is ready.

The conversation between Koku and Billgar abruptly comes to halt. Both of them refocus their eyes on Lady Amarella. Billgar having only met her once before wonders as to why she has so brazenly entered the imperial court.

*Archaic marches in and sees that the court is relatively lively today. Taking the chrome sword from his inventory, Archaic throws it in the general direction of the emperor.*

"As you may have already heard, the mission in the desert was a failure, and for that I'll take no responsibility. However, I will say that I put a stop to the improper forging of weapons and this was the result. Personally, I think the blade is a piece of crap and I would never wield it, but I'll leave it to you to examine it and perhaps use it in a prize for some contest."

"Archaic! We have faith in your judgement......with this placement of this sword, you may do with it as you please."

He finally redirects his eyes at Amarella.

"Right! Berries! You may give them to Gerald."

A small tonsor(slightly smaller than average) come rushing out from behind the throne and graciously accepts the berries. Eating on right away, it tucks the other behind its wing for later. An attendant comes out with a tray bearing a Seafarer's Cutlass. Amarella takes he award and exits.

Walks in with the dead lizards over my left shoulder.

this is the first time Kreios has walked in the Golden Pagoda and is worried about the bleeding lizards and the really nice floor.

A guard takes the lizards and then presents Kreios with a peasant's jacket and 15gc, and then rushes him out before the citizen even gets a glimpse of the emperor.
