I just got it today and it is amazing! The character creation is better for two big reasons:
1) You can customized versions of all the characters like Nightmare and Talim and such.
2) The armor and equipment stuff actually changes the characters stats.
There are also several other good things added to the game.
1) It is pretty! Well PS3s do that so not really unexpected.
2) Characters can use certain skills (which can also be assigned and changed through character creation). These skills are abilities like, HP drain when you attack, You do more damage to there equipment, oh yeah. . .
3) You can damage and destroy the opponent's equipment(excluding weapon) and their stats and abilities drop based on what was destroyed.
4) There is also an elf character that kind of looks like the one from Record of Lodoss war.
5) One of the missions has you fighting against death with his crazy looking scythe.
Lastly if I find out anything else while playing I will post it here. _________________ "So they want to kill my men? Well two can play at that game."

| Thats sounds awesome. Its nice to hear that the character stats change and all that jazz. But can you cuztomize the build of the character? Like make them shorter or talled increase muscle or breasts? Also are faces as a whole or part by part? How are the nonbattle type armors? Like school uniforms and stuff? (clearly i have a different agenda) |

Sadly you can not custimize build, but that will not be necessary with some of them. As for none "battle" armor I have not unlocked nearly enough, but from what I have seen I would not doubt it. _________________ "So they want to kill my men? Well two can play at that game."

I don't think I have seen you type so much before... or be so... happy...
Sounds like a great game, I've barely played the other soul calibers but they were fun as well. Stinks its not for the Wii, but that might be for the best, even though they don't have to make the game using the motion sensor... |

The Wii had Soul Calibur Legends, which was horrible. If they tried porting Soul Calibur 4 to the Wii they would have to redo all of the character models, equipment models, and backgrounds because the Wii couldn't handle them do to the difference in video and processing power. _________________ "So they want to kill my men? Yeah, they would really have to do too much. Besides wii has its fighting game, so it is ok. Let PS3 and Xbox360 get soul calibur 4. _________________

It is quite fun beating the crap out of other players with a schoolgirl. Especially if said schoolgirl is wielding Soul Edge (Nightmare's sword). _________________ "So they want to kill my men? Well two can play at that game."

It's a great game. I love what they've done with character creation and that you can destroy the equipment. _________________ "Art is science made clear." -Jean Cocteau |

How much does this game these days anyways? I am actually highly considering getting a 360 for christmas, as soon as the "Jaspers" flood the market, so I was thinking of what games to get. As for fighter games, it would really be either SC 4 or Street Fighter 4. _________________

| OR BOTH! SC4 is for character creation really. Obviously you also need to get fable 2! Also...ahen, DOA Xtreme 2 was/is good.....actually we bought a harddrive for our xbox as the memory card got full of photos from that game. |

So I bought Soul Caliber 4 today, and I gotta say that is alright, but it is such a money focused game that its ridiculous. I mean... you have to buy the extra art. Why!? Why can't I just earn it by slaughtering my enemies in specific ways. Oh well, the combat is smooth and fun and the characters feel varied so that is nice.
