Holding his hand high above his head billgar tries his best to get the fishes tail of the ground. Its weight is very impressive and he give a smile. Walking back outside, he outstretches his wings. A burst of water comes out from the lake and floats in the air. Billgar with some effort and the help of a wind enchantment places the 8ft fish into the bubble of water. Carrying the blob of liquid it seems much lighter and the fish is able to stay alive. Billgar heads back into town.

Walking in I seen that everyone had fun with it. "I shall try to catch one of the fishes.I will make sure it goes to good use if caught. I will do the 100 GC plan."

Jack hands a coil of rope with a hunch of dripping meat hooked to one end.  Koku looks at it all for a moment in puzzlement and a light bulb seems to turn on in his head.  Without bothering with the boat behind the shop, Koku dives in off the wharf and swims out, enjoying the last of the morning rays as it approaches noon.  Without further ado, Koku whirls the rope over his head a to let some rope out and get some extra power.  With a mighty heave, he slings the hooked meat out even deeper.  He then ties the other end to his foot and waits for the tug as he swims about for a bit.

When the tug finally happens (the sun has past its zenith), Koku instinctivily kicks back to set the hook.  From there he just swims back to shore and pulls his weighty catch in.

People gather around in wonder for no one fishes in this style and are very curious what this brave man has caught.  After a moment of strainfull pulling hand over hand, despite Koku's immortal powers.  Finally, he gets his catch in sight and he rushes into the shallows, keeping the line tight, with the intent to knock out his prize with a single punch or kick.  He stops in surprise though, for his hook is as pulled in no fish.  Rather it is some kind of rusted chest about the size of himself.

Takes a moment, but Koku manages drag the large chest the rest of the way on shore.  All the spectactors quickly gather around at a respectable distance.  With a quick axe kick, the horribly rusted lock disinagrates and Koku opens the chest.  After digging around in rotten, waterlogged clothes, papers, and random worthless junk, Koku pulls out a bone tube with a wax sealed cork on one end.  there is no markings on it of any kind.

Getting serious this time, Billgar uses his magic to get a current to pull him out on the lake.  A slight breeze can be felt as the afternoon sun beats down without mercy.  After going out a ways, Billgar casts his line with a small grunt.  The lure hits the water with a soft splash and goes under.

Trying a different tactic, Billgar slowly reels the line in.  With the line half way reeled in, a tug is felt.  Billgar quickly jerks the line to set the hook and begins reeling it in.  There is little struggle as he easily lifts a lifely 1ft Violet Crawler out of the water.  Repeating his earlier water bubble trick for the fish and guides the boat back to the shop.

obtained 1ft violet crawler

Deciding to take the day off for once, Schmall casually walks in with none of the dramatic enterances that he usually makes.  He just hands the shopkeep 50gc and says, "I'd like to go fishing please."

*paid*

Jack smiles at his new, short lord and cheerfully says, "Yes Sah!"  He even goes so far as to give a pathetic salute while handing the fishing rod to Schmall.  With a roll of his eyes, Schmall stomps to the boat in back tied to the wharf and casts off.  He doesnt even pay attention as he rows out in frustration as the suns begins to dip below the horizon.

After paddling a good 1000 feet out, Schmall casts the line out as far as he can, still fuming about all the Sirs and My Lords from everyone.  He just sits there holding the rod and fumes.

Takes a few tugs, but Schmall snaps out of his daydreaming of punching a few choice Lords who are giving him a hard time right in the nose and jerks the line to set the hook.  Schmall instantly knows he is in for a tough fight as he begins to pull and rell his catch in.  He feels his small frame un able to take the weight of the creature pulling back on the line as it obvious lashes back and forth against the line.  Thinking quick, Schmall sits right down on the bottom of the boat, braces his back against one gunwhale with his feet proped up against the other, facing towards the line so that he can pull and reel without going overboard.

Takes several minutes of exhausting work, Schmall finally pulls a half sized serpent out of the water and only received one bite from the thing before managing to knock it out with a paddle.  With his prize and the sun quickly disappearing, Schmall begins the long trip back in as fast as he can.

Once back to the shop, Schmall wraps a wet blanket around the serpent, pours a bucket of water into the serpents mouth for it to get some air, clubs it unconcious again, and hauls it into town with a tired smile.

1/2 sized serpent obtained (donate to Aquarium)slight update.  read first post about derby

though the day is slow and langui and his duties as Emperor are keeping him contained to within the palace walls, His Eminence Billgar manages to steal out for a bit and wander off to Validus province. Undetected by the guards, it seems the Kingdom is at a standstill today. How fortunate! Entering the fishing shop, He puts 100 GC on the counter.

"How have they been biting today?"

Dozing behind the counter, Jack the Fisher wakes up at the sound of clinking money.  He hands Billgar a coil of strong rope with a larg nasty looking hook on the end, a hunck of bloody meat stabbed through it.  He then promptly sets himself down behidn the counter again and dozes off.

Billgar, in his usual carefree mood, cheerifully heads out back, boards the row boat, and decides for a little exercise and paddles out.  Once out a little ways, he tosses the line out.  He frowns at the line as it only goes about thirty some odd feet.  He suddenly smiles as the air stirs above the line and it rises from the water.  It darts out a good hundred feet and plunks back into the water.  With a satisfied nod, Billgar ties the other end to bow of the boat.  He then lays down in the boat to watch the sun go down.

Several minutes later, Billgar feels the boat begin to move.  Excited, Billgar pounces on the rope and begins pulling on it.  Gerald, still on Billgar's head, clups his encouragement as his master's arm muscles strain with the mighty pull on the line.  Billgar laughs for he finally has a true challenge.  The pull on the line redoubles and Billgar laughs all the harder as his muscles scream of overexertion.  The pain begins to fade as the joy of the challenge takes over and Billgar begins the slow process of pulling in the fish as it pulls him further out.  Fishermen stare with jaws dropped as Billgar zips on by.

After a good hour of tug-a-war, Billgar brings the head of the fish close enough to club.  It takes a few blows to Billgar's surprise.  It's not until he manages to get it ashore does he realize he has caught a twenty-five foot serpent.  A strange feeling begins overcome Billgar as something seems to nudge all over.  He looks around in confusion.  Takes a moment to sort out why he is laying down in the boat and why the sun is on the wrong side of the sky.  When Billgar finally rubs the last of the sleep out of his eyes, he realizes he must have fallen asleep out on the lake and the lake had washed him ashore.  Seeing the line still out, Billgar pulls the line in and finds nothing on the hook.  Not even the hunck of meat is evident.  With a shrug, Billgar heads out and leaves everything where it lies.

good nights sleep obtained

Returning again later the next day after an endless barrage of paperwork needed to be done at the capital the emperor wishes to relax, entering the fishing shop and placing 50GC on the table he grabs his usual pole and some tackle and heads out to the docks.

Also wanting a break from the constraints and responisiblity of paperwork, Schmall enters and places 50GC down beside the Emperor and says, "Good to see you your Eminence.  Lets see what we can catch today."

So both Schmall and Billgar, including thier respect feathery companions, head out back to the boat and head out into the lake as the sun begins to dip down below the horizon.  After rowing out a few hundred feet, both fishermen cast out thier lines.

Within minutes both feel the familiar tugging of a fish biting.  They each give a sharp tug and start the pulling and reeling battle invloved in bringing the fish in.  Since both fishermen have dealt with serpents on the line, whatever was on the line was pretty easy to pull in.  Schmall effortlessly pulls in a 1ft violet and billgar fights a little more to get his 5 ft violet.

Before the serpents manage to fully wake up, Schmall quickly paddles the two of them in to shore.

Billgar obtained 5ft violet
Schmall obtained 1ft violet that he will donate to the Aquarium

returning yet once more though a few days later things are still hectic at the Palace. With the upcoming new season the emperor has had little time to spare as he eagerly makes preparations and deals with requests from the advisors. Stealing away for a bit, he once again finds himself in Validus, a now favorite spot. Entering the fishing shop he purchases the 100GC package.
