Archaic slips into the shadows of the ally. A short ways in he encounters a strange man in a black cloak. The figure slips by him silently most likely taking him for some random member of the underground. Walking for a bit, Archaic eventually sees an open door with the familiar back of Koku sticking out of it. Approaching silently, he sneaks up on the guard captain. Soon after Koku explains the situation. Some strange barrier seems to prevent them from entering the room, and they merely continue to watch from outside.

Meanwhile, bean gets lost. Apparently not all mages have a sense of direction. Finding himself in the alleys as well but in another part of town, he pauses for a moment as he feels a slight shift in the magical forces of the area. A black cloaked figure approaches him.
"You are form the capital no doubt? I am Abdul Alzahard, the man that sent for you."
"Wow, what luck there has been for me on this journey. Yes, I'm from the capital, but the others have been wandering the town, looking for you. Perhaps you could fill me in on what we have to do while we look for Koku and Archaic?"
"I fear that my time to speak with you is limited, as I know far more than one should, and need to leave this region as soon as it is possible. However, I will tell you what I know...
On the outskirts of this city there is an old abandoned palace. It was constructed when Hans Kibarachi had conquered this area and has since fallen to ruin. Now used by a power group of individuals, a brilliant man has found a way of forging unbelievable weapons that are fused with false souls, created not through the power of the gods, but through the hands of man.
These weapons have many shapes and sizes, but all are pure silver. Be weary, for they are strong. I implore you to seek out your companions and put an end to the man who knows the secret ways of crafting false souls."
An arrow shoots down from above, ending the life of Abdul. Bean takes cover against a wall to avoid being his by the next shot.

Koku with his persistance gets through the barrier
Spoiler:
Koku has left the quest Oasis and has begun Hydro, continued in thread "Hydro"
I pull out Zurgus and make a mad dash for the streets. Hoping the assassin has made his target and does not intend to follow me, I start calling out to Archaic and jumping on raised surfaces, shouting "ARCHAIC!"
"I hope he isn't asleep again, the fool is going to get killed with sleepwalks like that."
*Archaic watching Koku enter the building decides to go back to the hotel and sneak back into the room he had just recently paid for. Taking a quick nap, the unconscious Archaic suddenly smiths a hint of blood in the air and begins to sleep walk in the direction of the source. Jumping out the window and running to the area, Archaic lays Nosferatu in the puddle as he stands there still asleep.*
"Feast Nosferatu, and then we can slaughter the holy."
*The still unconscious Archaic looks around with a smile and starts to try to sense the presence of whoever may be near. Detecting first the usual presence of Beanbaker, Archaic begins to laugh, but then he feels at least one other. A wife smile grows on his face as he begins to jump up the building and tries to pinpoint exactly where the person is as to allow Nosferatu to feast once more.*
"Here piggy piggy, I want to feast upon you!"
*Archaic finally making it to the top of the building decides to blindly swing the attached axe of Nosferatu in a spiral that goes around him for some distance.* _________________
Though camouflaged against a wall the blade finds the target int he blind swing and removes the head from the assassin. Clearly this for was not match for archaic.
*Archaic makes his way over to the corpse of the assassin and once again rests his weapon in the blood. This time he even bends over and tries a little himself, but the putrid taste of the weak revolted him and awoke him from his slumber. Looking around confused, Archaic picked his weapon up and jumped down off the building into the alley way.*
"Why do these things keep happening to me..." _________________
Finding Archaic and his usual habit of being around blood, I tell him the details of what Abdul said before he died. "So apparently there are some smiths capable of making god-like weapons instead of the natural way, and we are to stop the one who knows the processes of how to do it, by adding false souls. They are located outside of the city. He instructed us to end his life, despite his knowledge."
Looking at Nosferatu, I pick up some blood and rub it between my fingers. "They are all guilty of the crime, whether they be accessories or directly involved. Lets try to keep the killing down. The more that live, the more that will learn a lesson."
"Fair warning; don't ever steal the blood from Nosferatu or you'll surely pay for it with your own. Secondly, I don't care one way or an other who we have to kill or for why, lets just get on our way then. He told you the information so I trust you to simply relay that to the others."
*Archaic walks out of the alley and heads towards the outskirts of the town, trying to look for the Orsa they rode in on.* _________________
"Let's hope she wasn't a target. Maybe she is the clever one in avoiding the problem, but not really that smart. Why should she care anyways? The orsa tracks will disappear with the next sandstorm, so looking for her is futile." I start to poke around the outside of the city, sticking to the dusty streets near the city limits. At every end that leads into the desert, I look around for anything suspicious.
"Wait... didn't you say that Abdul claim that there were smiths capable of making powerful weapons without using souls. What if our 'companions' were of that group. Remember 'silk' and 'satin' that were used against us when we first encountered them? And now that Abdul's been assassinated, they're no where to be seen."
*Archaic decides to use the height of some of the buildings to his advantage and jumps up the tallest one that he can find. When he reaches the top he takes a look around.* _________________
Yelling up to Archaic on a roof, "That is an extremely plausible idea, and that means Makire may have already informed the group." Climbing up to his height, "...We don't have any idea how big the operation is. It could be five people to half the city. The faster we find it, the better. Hopefully Makire is not involved. We would most likely have to fight that orsa of hers..."
Thinking for a few seconds, "She show all of the signs... she asked why guards were out this far, and she immediately disappeared when we got here. Shortly after, Abdul is killed before us, and we spilled our guts in front of her talking about finding Abdul. There are just too many odds and ends here. We need to find the smith first, hopefully he can answer our questions."
"Do not say that we spilled our guts to her, I was always cold towards her and gave her nothing. However, before we do anything head down to the weapon shop and buy yourself an offensive means if you haven't done so already. As nice as the shield is, its useless by itself."
*Archaic continues his surveying of the town.* _________________
