Exiting the capital wall you traverse the great red bridge with confidence. Making it to the other side you find yourself at the entrance to the plains. Though just 30ft ahead there is a dessolate land, before that is a lush green patch formed by the constant care of the imperial gardeners, with some lush trees mixed in. This is apparently a part of the "Beautify Nocte Campaign" or something like that that you have seen flyers about.

*Archaic begins by looking around at his scenery as he walks straight towards the desolate land. Knowing that this journey would probably have him facing a monster of some sort, Archaic and Nosferatu twitched in anticipation as they waited for something to happen.*

Something moves swiftly from behind archaic. If it were another person perhaps they wouldnt even notice, but with lightning fast reflexes, time almost slows as he sees the form of a large rodent pass by him and snap at the coin bag on his belt.

*Archaic tries to prevent the rodent from taking his money as he readies Nosferatu and swings it in the direction of the rodent. He knows that if this fails he will have to give chase, but he is ready for it as he has trained hard to be able to dash quick and for a long time.*

"Bring it on you son of a beast."

Archaic brings Nosferatu around and swings it at the creature. Though both similar in speed archaic is far more skilled and his experience shines brightly. The blade enters at the chest of the beast and cuts through it horizontally to the rear, separating it into two clean parts.
From the tufts of the corpses fur archiac produces the notebook. Clearly he was far too advanced to be trifling with such a small matter.

Looking through the notebook out of an irresistible curiosity, he sees many diagrams detailed maps of hidden caves located throughout the field, and some rather in depth studies on the creatures that in habit the area. The notebook in and of itself is quite the treasure.

*Archaic swings Nosferatu and cleans it of the feral blood from the beast he just slain. Looking at the map he tries to determine which area would yield the largest rewards. Not knowing what lies in any of them however, he decides to make his way to the one furthest away from him and simply explore each subsequent cave as he returned.*

Making his jounrye far more intense then it need be, archaic wanders off into the plains. The furthest cave lies about a 4 day journey ahead on foot, so quite a hike. Marching onward, the sun beats down upon the assassin as he traverses the barren fields. Tonsor.....tonsor.....tonsor......pretty much are the only life to be seen. After about a day on foot, a susivicus is seen wandering about. The map indicates a cluster of trees a bit off in the distance which explains its appearance.

After much more walking archaic finally spot where the first cave is supposed to be, but only dust and a few stray weeds are in the area. Well.. those and a flock of lump birds.

*Archaic mumbles and swings at the lumpbirds, knowing full well that Nosferatu will just get thrown away from them. Collecting himself, he makes his way to the next nearest spot and searches there thoroughly, making sure to keep his guard up in case any more rodents decide to come and steal from him again. Although, Archaic had to admit that he has respect for that creature and its nerve.*

Making his way just a short hike over form where the first cave was indicated, archaic finds himself at yet another spot where nothing is to be found. Perhaps there is something more to this than first meets the eye?

*Archaic looks at the ground more carefully and begins to wildly use Nosferatu to pick up the ground that could have easily been concealing something underneath it.*

"This isn't right... this map is doing nothing but lying to me right now."

*Archaic continues digging as he thinks more carefully about the map.*

As the blade tears through the infertile soil that rests beneath Archaic's feet, the ground suddenly gives way and he finds himself in one of the said underground caves. Dark and grimy light only shines form the hole he just created. The once familiar smell of venom and slime indicate that this is most likely home to  many a poison gnar. There is also the not so faint smell of some sort of gaseous substance mixed in. Best to be careful.

*Archaic tries to look around and prepares Nosferatu for what will surely be a series of conflicts against gnars. Knowing the dangers and smelling the fumes in the  air, Archaic still chooses to head straight ahead.*

Archaic progresses and the dampness of the cave makes his skin itch, perhaps the venon has intoxicated the air. Coughing a bit some blood spurts out into archaic's hand.

*Archaic looking at the blood realizes that he cannot take this quest at a leisurely pace. Beginning his charge, he runs as fast as he could trying to find just about anything that will lead him to treasure.*
