Okay so alot of you have been asking for a good on-going fighting anime? Well fortunately the summer anime have begun to be fansubbed! WOOT!
Even though one of the two ill tell you about dates back to the spring.
Mugen no Junin- Summer 2008
Alt title: Blade of the Immortal
This one will get you going! There is only one episode out so far, but im sure that It will continue. the main character is known by the name "Killer of 100". But he hasnt actually killed 100 men. the name just refers to one night that he did. However he is tired of fighting and killing. Years after that fated night, he killed the husband of his sister who uncovered his identity. It drove his sister mad. Giving up on the way of the murderer(kinda.....) he decides he has to stop being the kill of 100......and become the killer of 1000
Nabari no Ou- Spring 2008 (still on-going)
Still about fighting this one takes more of a ninja approach than samurai. Its a bit off the normal, which is good. the main character is weak but far from insecure. Hes more apathetic than anything, that is except for when he puts on a girly face so cute that boys can feel their parents shame when they look at it! Anyways supposedly hes some godly ninja..but he doesnt care.
In the world it takes palce in ninja villages still exist they are just hidden(so its kinda the same setting as rl.) Anyways his village wants him to rise up becoming the king of ninja.....he just doesnt care.

Nabari no Ou is really good. I am up to episode 7 only, but so far it is very very good. The characters are not bad, some are developed a lot more then others. One of the more heavily focused on characters Yoite is kind of a depressed killer who I think is becoming my favorite character. _________________

Yeah yoite is petty cool. Miharu is still my favorite though. Its nice that he is not the stereo-typical main character...though he has the powers of one. I like how he switches to the cute attack so quick it always makes me laugh at the victems.

Indeed, seeing him with devil wings is great, especially when you see someone else (usually the sensei) crying or hurt. Miharu also seems like he may become serious due to events, but it will be great if he just stays apathetic to everything. _________________

Tsk, talking about Nabari instead of Blade of the immortal. Both series are fantastic, but Blade of the Immortal is just everything that I wanted in it and more... it was amazingness. Its only unfortunate that they are releases it slowly with only 1 episode every 2 weeks.

We aqre talking about Nabari insstead because there is somehting to talk about. The first episode from blade of the immortal was sick, no lie(i can tell right now though it wont make my favorites list, but that is due to genre). Anyways while it was a good first ep, that is all we have to its kinda unfair to talk about it, maybe a few episodes form now we can start a new thread? I just mentioned them both to let the people who are looking for the fighting anime(like bean) know what is out there.

Yes, even though now that a few episodes past, Nabari no Ou is a lot less orientated into the fighting then I thought it would be. It seems to be more focused on decisions and ambition then anything. _________________

It is getting a bit like that though there still is enough fighting that i would call it a fighting anime actually i would call it a shonen ai ninja fighter anime.

Wait... I only saw a few episodes of Nabari and didn't sense the yaoi in it that would be needed to make it a shonen ai. o_O When did the boys love start appearing in it.

I think that if it is between the sensei and Miharu, I think it may be different. It appears that the sensei might know Miharu from the past, possibly as his brother. _________________

Wel first off though the words essentially are the same in english dont confuse the connotations of shonen ai and yaoi. Sex aside yaoi applies actual like out there ness with it. However the sensei DEFINATELY has romantic feelings for miharu and also the white haired kid i forget the name of always talks about them using words that describe a couple(in japanese). Finally, though miharu doesnt feel romantically inclined towards the sensei, it seems that he does towards yoite.
Calling ti shonen ai means more that there is romanticism between males not that they necessarily date or sex one another. |
