So recently i stumbled upon an amazing website. It is essentially the best social network for anime/manga fans! The layout is very similar to facebook but its content is very different! The best feature is the ability to keep track of all the anime you watch on the list feature of it. thought the version of phpBB that LE runs on cant align my sig on that site right i will include it here. This one is a static screen cap of the signature i made, but the real one updates dynamically to say what anime i have most recently watched. Click on it to see my profile on the site! from there you can also view my anime list. the site is clean coded and well designed. I highly recommend membership!

Even though noone respnded to this i will note that while not upgrading the phpBB version of the site i modified the acceted codes, so that things such as this 5 image signature can be done smoothly.

This site (MAL)seemed like it would be good and it is so far. That said, some of their recent decisions has made a majority of the members furious, myself included, and I am not sure how much longer the site will remain popular.

Wait hat recent decisions have infuriated the members? Maybe im not paying enough attention?

They decided to remove all(like 3000 or so) of the doujin form the database. The bad part is that they claimed to have based the decision off of the "majority" of the member's vote in a small poll. The majority being about 80 people who voted. There are 768 people online right now and I am guessing that there are more offline. Most members don't even know that there are forums and the admin based their decision off of a very small amount of members. I would hate to see what else they do in the future if this is how they are doing things now.

True that may have been a bad decision, but truth be told it doesnt really bother me. Also i agree with the forums thing. If anything MAL runs like facebook, so forums in the first place i feel are useless except for the specific forum categories that are also accessible through the club pages as these allow for club discussion. I know that MAL was also bought out by some big company recently though the staff stays the same they jsut dont need to deal with legal rights or servers anymore and can solely devote themselves to web.

In my opinion though as lng as it continues to exist i am fine. I like it for seeing my own stats and looking up anime titles, the forums arent interesting to me, and i i were to keep track of the doujins i read then it would be insane.

Oh i understand that the doujin part is rather irrelevant, my problem was just with how they run the site.

Yeah the whole majority wins thing does not work if only 80/300 or so vote. It is not like voting for the US president. It appears that the results should have been a lot different. I would not be surprised if it was mostly the ones highly opposed to it who voted over everyone else. Only those motivated enough to do something would after all.It is a bad way to run a site, and MAL should learn better.
