As of January 8, Tv Tokyo will start streaming an English-subtitled version of Naruto Shippuden an hour after the Japanese release. This of course costs a small subscription. But now the important news. The episode will then be shown via Crunchyroll for free a week later. Also they are planning on doing this with five series so far, one of which is . . . Gintama! This means that you could pay to see the new Gintama an hour after it airs in Japan. Also it will be a legal subbing that will be released for free a week later. In light of this Datteboyo plans to stop subbing Naruto, and other fansubbers may stop as well, since it will be released for free a week later rather then several months or years. If more series begin being released this way it will likely have a huge impact on fansubbing altogether. And finally here is the article on ANN.

wow that is good news, and should be very exciting. However, I will be behind in Gintama which is not fun, and so I will still need some dubs.

They also mentioned about running some of the previous episodes, like all of Shippuden for Naruto, several weeks before to help people get caught up with the series. I don't know if they are doing it with all of them though, so You would have to check.

The only thing with the info you provided is my curiosity with Gintama.....its ending soon. you know that right?

I didn't know that, but Anime News Network mentioned that show in their summary about the whole thing. So maybe they will just show the show in reruns or start from the beginning or something, not really sure.
