the New Otaku!

So the A.D.V.E.N.T.U.R.E. force died. Though sad something beautiful shall rise from its ashes!

Before it was a club mashes up and then shoddily assembled. Based on the idea of being an all encompassing nerd club, it lacked focus which made it difficult to obtain members. However the new club shall be different!

"The New Otaku!" formed by me, too a painstaking amount of negotiation with the school, and an endless amount of paperwork, but it will indeed happen. We are already planning trips to some major stores that are just outside of manhattan, as well as to the first exhibit to ever showcase anime/manga as an art.

In addition are meetings are more than just screenings.

Examples
One shall be watching martial arts anime. This will be proceeded by individuals learning how to do a proper knee kick then breaking boards with it! Lots of fun!

Or another will revolve around 2-3 episodes of anime where characters play mah jhong then the club members will learn to play and get to get in on a couple rounds. Im quite excited about it all. Plus im in charge so worse comes to worse i can at least show them decent anime....instead of samurai pizza cats.

You could do the same thing with Hikaro no Go! and GO. Also, it is awesome that you will be in charge of the anime club and I hope it goes well. Also Also, if I think of any anime - real world association ideas I will let you know.

yes that would be great, i mean aside from shooting each other. . . .
Another plan will be for us to build gundam models while watching mecha anime, Oh and a gintama marathon with ice cream!

Yakitate Japan with a tasting session of different breads unless you could some how acquire a means for all of you to make some.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a good one! especially as we do not ahve to fundraise because the school covers all costs! WE could definately have bread tasting!

Also remember that it is basically required that all anime clubs watch Genshikan or NHK. You could also have a day or several where you go over character ideas for Cosplay especially if you have any costume or fashion designers join. Hell, you could spend time working on them.

Yes we have both and several individuals who are very into cosplay. Also for the days that we promote the club the officers will be in costume and at school events. At the very least it will get us attention even if it doesnt draw in new members.
