then what would happen if in your hand is that bush. maybe the two things are very small and fit in a very tiny bush. Does that mean those two are worth four?

I think that you are over thinking the original question. if the item in the bush is represented by the letter 'b' and the item in the hand is represented as the letter 'a' and a=b then 2b does not equal a. However, if one possesses nothing then gains possession of item a then they are equal to the value of 'a' where as the value of '2b' is inherent only to the bush.

well in this statement a=2b originally. Maybe though, 2b is only relevant when said item is in the bush. Once removed from the bush, it may be defaulted back to that of a. I think then, you would make the most profit keeping the item in the bush and selling as it is then worth a(2b) where a is both the bush and the thing combined and b is just the thing.
